Grier Carbide Carrier Front | GRIER 3-COMPARTMENT CARBIDE CARRIER - Brass and tin plate 3-compartment miners carbide carrier for matches, water and carbide; marked GRIER BROS. PITTSBURG, PA on bottom next to water compartment cap, 5 in. high x 3 1/2 in. wide x 2 in. deep, metal belt loop on side [No advertising for this rare carrier has been found. The Grier Bros. marking is the same as on many of their oilwick lamps. The city of Pittsburg’s spelling was changed in July 1911 to include the h as it is now known.
